Ronald Adams was killed in 2022. Deputies found him deceased in his home. His entire arm had been degloved/ripped apart down to the bone. Deputies found one of the two pitbulls covered “head to tail” in blood.
This is a common horror in the #dogbiteawareness topic, but the details of the story are less frequent. Ronald’s case was never reported in the news and we are unsure if his case is even recorded in the data on dog attacks.
He was a prior volunteer at the Humane Society of Highland County. This appears to be a factor in his unusual case. He was allowed to bring home not one, but two pitbulls despite being 79 years old and suffering from medical needs. This occurred when his partner was out of town, leaving him even more vulnerable.
The dogs also allegedly killed one of the cats on the property before they killed him.
