We have an international case, from Brazil, 🇧🇷 that is a sober reminder it only takes one mistake to live out the rest of your days in agony.

Often, parents reassure us that they are responsible owners who always supervise their dogs 🐶 around their babies.

But some dogs require 100% perfection to avoid attacks. And that’s a problem because humans are not 100% perfect. Especially when they’re overworked, tired, and stressed out as new parents. No matter how perfect you think you are as a parent, you’ll only be one minor mistake away from tragedy when you choose to bring a bloodsport or large working dog into your child’s environment.

That’s how sweet Isis ended up here. She’s reminding us to never lose touch with reality. And to always remain humble.

Isis was an adorable, cherished 5 month old. Her parents brought her over to the grandparents’ home for a family 🎉 party. The grandparents owned a pitbull.

But that’s ok, because with so many adults, someone would be around to watch little Isis, right?

Unfortunately, one lapse. One brief miscommunication. Was all it took for the pit to complete its mission. The parents thought the uncle was watching Isis. The uncle thought the mom was watching Isis.

The reality is: the pit 🐕 was watching Isis.

Her ending was not merciful. She suffered a shattered pelvis and was covered in bites from head to toe. Once her uncle realized the mistake, he found her and rushed her to the hospital where she gained her angel wings.

Parents: you are not perfect. Don’t ever leave your baby in the proximity of an animal that requires perfection. It truly is as simple as that.

Respectfully,

To add to the horror, the media went with the “excuse” that the pitbull was hungry. Parents, if a dog views your baby as lunch after missing one meal, that dog isn’t a domesticated house pet and should never be around your child.
