Today I am covering a fatality case from June of 2022 as the remaining dogs involved in the attack were finally dispatched after the owner fought the past two years in court to keep them alive. 🤮
Betty Ann Williams was gardening in her backyard on a nice spring day. She wasn’t bothering anybody or doing anything wrong.
Her neighbor’s three pits, specifically labeled as American Staffordshires in the report, escaped their yard and beelined to Betty. They then proceeded to slowly, agonizingly maul her until she passed away. Court documents confirm her scalp was ripped open and she lost appendages including her lip and ear. It was not fast or merciful, as is the typical case when bloodsport dogs attack.
To add to this horror, the emergency call was coded incorrectly so the ambulance didn’t respond rapidly.
Smoki, the primary attacker, was dispatched right away. But the owner FOUGHT FOR TWO YEARS IN COURT to keep Bossii and Cinnamon alive.
Just pause here. Imagine you own three dogs. They eat someone alive.
Do you see yourself then going to court for two years to try to keep them alive? 🤮🤮🤬🤬🤡🤡
The audacity is unbelievable.
Thankfully, Justice Bruce finally put an end to this abuser’s prolonged fight for control in June, 2024, by concluding:
“All three dogs were attacking Ms. Williams and participated in causing her horrific injuries.
These dogs should not be returned to the community because they are a high risk and danger to the public.”
Thank you, Justice Bruce. A healthy and sane society should never place dogs with a history of unwarranted mauling back into our community.
Betty, may you rest in peace. 🪦 May you be in a place where you can enjoy a beautiful garden and never have to feel the suffering you experienced at the jaws of these animals. May we all stand strong like Justice Bruce and refuse to submit to these entitled abusers who bring dangerous animals into our communities and show no remorse or change after an attack.
