The most recent baby murdered by a pitbull has once again caused pit apologists to deny, lie, obfuscate, and splice #DNA in an attempt to defend bloodsport dogs.
They want to trick you into believing an ambull isn’t a pitbull. They can only do this by erasing history and assuming you’re ignorant about basic hereditary genetics.
Let’s refresh our knowledge about American Bully dogs.
‼️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆: 𝗔 𝗣𝗶𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?🐕🦺
The American Bully was developed in the late 20th century by selectively breeding the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) with other breeds to create a more muscular, companion oriented dog. While marketed as a distinct breed, the American Bully is part of the Pitbull Umbrella, genetically and behaviorally.

✔ 50-85% American Pit Bull Terrier / American Staffordshire Terrier
✔ 15-50% English Bulldog, Olde English Bulldogge, or Mastiff breeds
While the Standard American Bully has a higher percentage of pit bull DNA, XL and XXL Bullies were bred with mastiff dogs to increase size. Regardless, they also still carry dominant pit bull genetics, including high bite force, gameness, and strong prey drive.

To better understand the inherent risk of the Am Bull, you need to know about the now extinct dog used to make them. One of the breeds introduced into the American Bully gene pool was the Olde English Bulldogge, of the original English Bulldog that was bred for blood sports such as bullbaiting in medieval England.
🐂 Bull-Baiting?
Bulldogs were trained to latch onto a bull’s nose and hold on despite extreme resistance, pain, or injury. They were used for cruel spectacles where they attacked restrained animals for public entertainment. This reinforced unprovoked aggression, high prey drive, and strong latch. Breeders also selected for extreme tenacity, aggression, and pain tolerance, traits still seen in pitbull breeds today.
When these bloodsport genes were introduced into the American Bully, they reinforced some of the most dangerous traits found in modern bully breeds:
✅ Unrelenting bite grip: Tendency to clamp and shake, refusing to let go
✅ Pain tolerance: Willingness to continue attacking despite injury
✅ Explosive aggression: Latent potential for sudden and unprovoked attacks
Despite claims that the American Bully is a “gentle family dog,” the reality is that its genetic foundation still includes breeds selected for extreme violence and physical dominance. With the nokill push, the pitbull umbrella has not undergone any strong bloodline change to fix these deadly genetics.

🐾 Pocket: Smallest and most compact
🐾 Standard: Classic medium sized Bully
🐾 XL & XXL: Larger versions with even more muscle mass
🔹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀⚠️
Despite being bred for companionship, the American Bully still retains pit bull traits that raise concerns:
🚩 Selective breeding focused on appearance, not temperament
🚩 Size & strength amplified, making attacks more dangerous
🚩 Consistently linked to serious attacks, leading to bans in certain areas
🚩 Blame-shifting culture, where attacks are excused instead of addressed
🔹 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲 ⏳
Although American Bullies are promoted as a separate breed, their genetic foundation is undeniably part of the bloodsport category. This explains why attacks by American Bullies closely mirror those of APBTs, especially in the XL variety. The addition of bloodsport genetics from Olde English Bulldogges only reinforced their dangerous potential and thanks to the disordered push to #savethemAll, humans have not fixed the genetics of these dogs.
When someone tries to play the denial game, refuse to buy into it. Call them out. Help to prevent future murders
