She was a loving mother and devoted pet owner, but even decades of care couldn’t stop the fatal instincts of her XL Bully dogs. This is not an isolated tragedy: it’s part of the bloodsport legacy hiding behind a new name.

On this Angel Day, we remember Angeline Mahal, a devoted mother, friend, and dog lover who was brutally killed by the very dogs she raised from puppies.
Known to loved ones as “Angel,” Angeline was found in her hallway, unresponsive and fighting for her life, after being mauled by her two XL Bully dogs. Her sons, arriving home, made the heartbreaking discovery and called for help. Despite the efforts of medics and first responders, Angeline could not be saved.
Police in riot gear stormed the home in East London, seizing both dogs at the scene.

💐 “We miss her. She was sincere and loved by everyone,” a relative shared.
💬 “We asked her to get rid of the dogs. The bond with owners and their dogs is too strong.”
That bond, deep, well intentioned, and trusting, is too often betrayed by the dangerous genetics of bloodsport breeds.
⚠️ XL Bullies are not new. They are pit bulls.
They are a rebranding of the same dangerous lineage built from pit bull DNA mixed with other fighting and mastiff breeds, bred for explosive aggression, and promoted under a false sense of safety.
📉 Angeline’s tragic story is not rare. In less than three years, XL Bullies alone have been involved in at least 13 fatal attacks, with even more nonfatal maulings. These attacks come without warning. Even experienced, loving owners—like Angeline—can become victims.
She didn’t fail her dogs. The system failed her.
The culture of denial around pit bull type dogs has a death toll. It silences grieving families, shields negligent breeders and rescues, and allows aggressive dogs to remain in homes despite red flags.
Angeline Mahal did nothing wrong.
She gave them love.
They gave her death.
We remember you today, Angel.
Your name is a call for truth, action, and accountability. 🕯️
