So, dogfighting is illegal and has been for decades. Notice how Heather confidently writes as if dogfighters are current, active, and reliable sources for canine science. They really do like to tell on themselves. I wonder what’s happening at her property. 😱

But anyway. Are you telling me a criminal, violent activity that involves dogs torturing each other to death is run by upstanding humans all following higher canine behavioral science? Do they take an underground oath? “I, a violent criminal, hereby promise to protect society.” 🤡

In reality, Colby, often known as the father of this movement, had his own prize fighting dog kill his toddler nephew.

Even IF violent criminals somehow all agreed to specially breed their fighting dogs a certain way, that still blatantly ignores basic logic and canine science.

For example, Border collies, considered one of the most intelligent and biddable breeds of all, can still herd swings or nip at the ankles of kids. It’s called instinct.

The idea that a bunch of violent criminals have altered bloodsport genetics to the point that they can control what target their crappy dog randomly attacks is absolute clown 🤡 fantasy. Even extreme genetic engineering and training can’t guarantee that. The second instinct kicks in, like any other dog, it will complete its purpose. Whether that’s on an innocent dog or an innocent baby makes no difference.

🐾 𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿, 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 ‘𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿’ 𝗮𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 🧠

Even if it were true that dog fighters cull dogs that show handler aggression?

👉 It means they eliminate dogs that turn on their owners, while they preserve and intensify the traits that drive explosive aggression toward other dogs and animals.

These traits include:

• Low bite inhibition

• Tenacity once engaged

• Insensitivity to pain

• Lightning-fast arousal

• Difficulty disengaging once latched

This is not an accident, it was intentional selection pressure applied over hundreds of years to produce animals capable of dismembering opponents in a pit.

🐶 While some fighting dogs may tolerate their handlers, they are still highly reactive, impulsive, and behaviorally unstable in unpredictable environments (i.e., normal homes). This is why genetic traits matter. This is why we do not treat golden retrievers like malinois, or greyhounds like huskies, because genetics guides behavior.

⚠️ Fighting dogs were not bred for “human friendship.” They were bred to tolerate a specific person under highly controlled circumstances before killing or being killed. They were not bred to be friendly and tolerate of strangers, toddlers, or senior citizens walking their leashed poodle down the street.

And no, “animal aggression” and “human aggression” are not mutually exclusive. Many fatal attacks begin with redirected aggression. Just ask the dozens of owners killed by their own pit bulls after trying to break up a dog fight at home.

📚 In contrast to these emotional rants, we reference:

• AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association)

• CDC dog bite data before lobbying halted it

• Peer-reviewed injury epidemiology studies

• Genetic behavior research in domestic canines

When people can’t counter the science, they usually resort to sarcasm, memes, or comments about eating paste.

🔍 So let’s be clear: understanding breed tendencies isn’t ignorance. It’s responsible canine ownership. And no amount of gaslighting will undo the growing mountain of evidence that pit bull type dogs and their variants (XL bully, American bully, etc.) are disproportionately represented in fatal and disfiguring attacks.

We’re here for victims, science, and public safety.
