Victim blaming children so that they believe it was their fault is a common tactic in our society when it comes to violent crimes committed by family members. You see this in topics such as SA and grape.
It’s a persistent pattern in the dog attack world, too, as dogs are essentially family members committing intimate violence.

Here we have a woman who was attacked by her mom’s dog and staunchly believes she was at fault.
Resource guarding a mom against a small child is never a dog’s job. It was the responsibility of the adults in the home to stop that. And to ensure the child’s safety was prioritized with proper, complete management in the interim.
This person was failed by her adult caregivers and then given a false script to absorb blame and accountability for something that was not her fault.
The reality is that she was placed in an environment with life threatening risk and then gr00med to believe she deserved it.
The dog’s job was :not: to resource guard her mom and certainly not from her.
She experienced a huge miscarriage of justice and as you’ll see at the end of her comments, she’s trying to complete the cycle of abuse. Victims of intimate violence frequently cooperate this way for a myriad of complex reasons, such as a deep need to feel as if they were in control, cognitive dissonance, a desire to defend the parents, etc.
As a child being programmed, she was innocent. As a willful adult complicit in a cycle, she needs to break the cycle.
