It was a heartbreaking 💔 and disturbing 911 phone call on that fateful July day.
Tragically, Kathleen’s own daughter stumbled over the attack. Upon arriving at the home, she dialed 911. Dispatch records detail a grueling situation:
“Caller is advising that a dog has killed her mom.”
“The female caller doesn’t believe she’s going to be able to get access to the mother because the dog is still out there.”
“They’re advising that the dog and the victim are confined in the same area, which is the backyard.”
Police 👮 and medical 🏥 responded quickly, but Kathleen had already succumbed to the attack. Officers on scene had to use their iron to dispatch the attacking dog just to get to the victim’s body.
The medical examiner later confirmed that Kathleen passed away after the attack, suffering from multiple severe bites primarily on her head and neck. 😢
Kathleen was an avid dog mom and neighbors reported she always had her dog with her. She was a member of the Pittie Moms and Pittie Lovers groups on Facebook. Beloved by many, she was a wonderful mom, grandma, friend, and community member.
No photos or additional information were released regarding the dog, to our knowledge. If anyone has additional details, please contact us.
The family asked that in lieu of flowers or positive thoughts, you perform an act of kindness for someone. Please, in her memory, do something kind today. 🕊️
