Let’s unpack the manipulative programming in this bloodsport defender’s comment.

Domesticated dogs are not supposed to :attack: over minor offenses or boundary issues. Stable canines work through these issues by giving multiple warnings, escalating to corrections.

A correction is not an attack.

#Dogbiteawareness

Most canines communicate with each other, their puppies, and humans everyday without mauling anyone to death.

Notice how she has to conflate the extreme attack case she’s responding under with a “bite.” She’s trying to use relativism to minimize the severity of attacks.

The baby in this case, as with most attacks, was not near the dog or bothering it. So it’s a moot point anyway.

We as safety advocates need to do a better job of calling out pushers who blur basic parenting standards with severe attacks.

It’s victim blaming and it spreads misinformation that causes a false sense of security/control, along with normalizing the idea that the default for our furry pets is lethal violence.

The punishment for bumping into or annoying a dog should NEVER be execution.
