Notice how she ends the post. It’s subtle, but an important element of positioning when people are manipulating others.

The victims of dog maulings don’t want to come at pit pushers. They’re tired of people with no empathy coming after THEM constantly.

Their lived experiences are real. They’ll have to live with it for the rest of their lives. And that’s not including the ones who didn’t survive so they’re silenced. 🗣️

#Dogbiteawareness

The constant attempt to twist informed consent and the sharing of victims’ stories as “hate” isn’t pit advocacy. It doesn’t prevent dog attacks. It doesn’t protect dogs from becoming attackers. It doesn’t hold bad owners accountable.

When people try to minimize, deflect, or play the victim, they are enablers for the attackers.

People who protect and defend perpetrators are sometimes known as flying monkeys, a reference to the Wizard of Oz. They are also known as Apaths or Codependents.

Everyday, we see pit advocates focus on blameshifting or denial. And ironically, we appreciate them. Their callous disregard for everything from the wellbeing of survivors all the way to basic logic and truth is what changes the hearts and minds of people.

Nothing makes a clearer, stronger point than watching someone try to argue about breed identification or socialization while people are literally being torn apart in neighborhoods and on playgrounds.
